Ezekiel 37:1–10

v.4 “Then He said to me, ‘Prophesy to these bones and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!’”

WHEN GOD WALKS YOU THROUGH THE VALLEY

Ezekiel does not wander into the valley by accident. Scripture says “the hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord.”

This valley is not punishment. It is not failure. It is assignment.

The bones are not hidden. God makes Ezekiel walk among them so he understands the full weight of the impossibility. These are not fresh bones. They are very dry—long past hope, long past expectation.

Some valleys in our lives feel like that:

  • You didn’t just lose financially — you’ve been under pressure for years.
  • You didn’t just pray once for that family member — you’ve been believing for decades.
  • You didn’t just feel tired last week — you’ve felt spiritually dry for a long time.

God does not rush Ezekiel out of the valley. He lets him see it clearly.

THE QUESTION THAT DEFINES FAITH

Then God asks:

“Son of man, can these bones live?”

This is not a question of power — God already knows what He can do. It is a question of perspective. Ezekiel answers wisely:

 “O Lord God, You know.”

In other words: I won’t deny what I see. But I also won’t limit what You can do. Before resurrection comes humility.

GOD COULD SPEAK — BUT HE CHOOSES A VOICE

Then comes verse 4:

“Prophesy to these bones…”

God does not speak to the bones Himself. He speaks to the prophet and tells the prophet to speak to the problem. This reveals something crucial: God often releases resurrection power through human obedience.

Some miracles are waiting on your mouth. We pray silently while God says:

“Open your mouth.”

We analyze while God says: “Declare.”

DON’T SPEAK WHAT YOU SEE — SPEAK WHAT GOD SAID

Ezekiel is not told to describe the dryness. He is told to announce the Word of the Lord. Prophetic speech is not emotional hype. It is agreement with heaven in the face of contradiction. Dry bones respond not to sympathy, but to authority.

SPEAKING TO DRY FINANCIAL BONES

Let’s bring this home.

Some of the driest bones in this room are financial:

  • Repeated setbacks
  • Debt that won’t shift
  • Doors that remain closed
  • Pressure that feels unending

But God never told Ezekiel to count bones. He told him to command them to hear. Your finances do not need panic. They need prophecy.

SPEAKING TO DRY BONES OF SALVATION

Other bones are far more personal — family members. You love them. You’ve prayed. You’ve cried. You’ve almost stopped expecting change.

But salvation is not based on human resistance. It is based on divine pursuit. If God can raise bones, He can awaken hearts.

OBEDIENCE BEFORE EVIDENCE

Verse 7 says:

“So I prophesied as I was commanded.”

No response yet. No movement yet. But obedience is released before results. And then comes the sound. Then the rattling. Then the alignment. Before you see resurrection, you will often hear movement.

DON’T STOP TOO SOON

The bones come together. Sinews form. Flesh appears. Skin covers them.

But verse 8 says:

“There was no breath in them.”

Structure is not life. Progress is not fullness. God commands Ezekiel to speak again. Some of you stopped speaking halfway. God says: “Prophesy again.”

NOW — SPEAK TO THE BONES (DECLARATIONS)

GENERAL DECLARATION

I identify my dry bone situation today and I bring it under the authority of God’s Word. I refuse to agree with the valley. I agree with heaven. What looks dead is not beyond resurrection. O dry bones in my life, hear the Word of the Lord!

DECLARATION OVER FINANCES

I declare that lack is not my portion. The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. I speak wisdom, discipline, and divine provision over my finances. Doors are opening. Resources are coming. Help is being released. O dry bones of provision, hear the Word of the Lord!

DECLARATION OVER FAMILY SALVATION

I call my family before the Lord. Hearts are softening. Eyes are opening. Souls are awakening. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Salvation is coming by the power of God. O dry bones of salvation, hear the Word of the Lord!

DECLARATION FOR BREATH & COMPLETION

I declare that what God started will be finished. I receive the breath of God — fresh faith, fresh fire, fresh strength. I will live, I will stand, and I will testify.

CONCLUSION

Dry bones don’t need silence. They need prophetic obedience. Stand in your valley. Open your mouth. And speak.  “O dry bones, hear the Word of the Lord!”
